Family Services for pre school children with disabilities and their families/carers

We run term time and holiday sessions for accompanied children including:
• Norfolk School for Parents which offers Pre School learning for children with cerebral palsy and other motor difficulties.
• Our Sense and Touch sessions which offer multi sensory experiences that are fun, educational and promote sensory integration.

If you are interested in our Family Services please contact our Family Centre on 01603 414109 to discuss your child’s needs and/ or to arrange a visit. All applications need to go through our referral process to ensure NANSA is able to meet the needs of new children.

Youth Services for 11 to 17 year olds

We run two Saturday Youth Groups and a holiday programme funded by Norfolk Children’s Services Short Breaks.

To apply you will need to contact the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). Contact via Customer Services on 0344 800 8020 and ask to be transferred to MASH. This team is responsible for dealing with all new referrals for services and they will send you a referral pack which we can help you complete.

If you already have an allocation of hours under Short Breaks call us on 01603 627662 to discuss a referral or to arrange a visit.

We complete a comprehensive care and support plan for each child/young person before confirming a place.

Transition Services for 18 to 25 year olds


Our 18+ Project offers a programme of work related projects during school/college holidays and also runs on alternate Saturdays.

Places are limited so advance booking is essential. All placements are subject to assessment of needs by NANSA. You may make a referral directly to us or via your social worker or other professional. All activities are available at a cost of £20.00 per day, payable in advance.

Springboard

Springboard is a social group for young people with disabilities aged 18 to 30 years. It meets fortnightly on Tuesday evenings in Norwich and the group sets its own agenda of outreach and in house activities. The aim is to develop/enhance social networks and to build self confidence and personal skills in preparation for work and community life.

This group is currently funded by the Youth Transition Fund and by members’ subscriptions. Applications need to go through our referral process to ensure NANSA is able to meet the needs of new members.

Services for Adults aged 18+


We offer a wide and varied programme of activities at our centre in Bowthorpe Road, Norwich. Courses are planned and designed in consultation with the people who use our services. Our members use their personal budgets to access the adult centre: three different levels of support can be provided to ensure a personalised service.

All applications go through our referral process to ensure NANSA is able to meet the needs of new members. You may make a referral directly to us or via your social worker or other professional. We will complete a comprehensive care and support plan with you before confirming a place.

Train and Trade Programmes

We now run two retail training programmes at our charity shops in Aylsham Road and Thorpe Avenue in Norwich. These programmes offer the opportunity to develop the full range of retails skills within a real life but structured working environment. Trainees are supported and supervised by our trained and experienced staff and follow a skills programme accredited by Gateway.

Trainees use their personal budgets to access our Train and Trade programmes. All applications go through our referral process to ensure NANSA is able to meet the needs of new members. You may make a referral directly to us or via your social worker or other professional. We will complete a comprehensive care and support plan with you before confirming a place.

Artshop

Our Art Shop in Earlham Road Norwich offers unique opportunities for young adults of varying abilities to develop their skills, experience and confidence in our art reproduction workshop, community gallery and shop.

As members of our project team trainees are supported in the workplace by experienced staff and volunteers. They gain a range of experience in retail, art reproduction, website, exhibitions and IT and follow an accredited Gateway programme.

Trainees use their personal budgets to access our artshop. All applications go through our referral process to ensure NANSA is able to meet the needs of new members. You may make a referral directly to us or via your social worker or other professional. We will complete a comprehensive care and support plan with you before confirming a place.

NANSA Wrap and Roll New Catering Project

NANSA Wrap and Roll will shortly be offering people with disabilities the opportunity to develop their skills, experience and confidence in our welcoming café at Hammerton Court in Bowthorpe Road, Norwich (opposite our adult centre).

Trainees will follow an accredited programme and will gain experience in food hygiene and safety, customer care, serving food and drink and communication skills. We will also be offering placements in our in house café at our adult centre.

Trainees use their personal budgets to access our Catering programmes. All applications go through our referral process to ensure NANSA is able to meet the needs of new members. You may make a referral directly to us or via your social worker or other professional. We will complete a comprehensive care and support plan with you before confirming a place.
