NANSA (Norfolk & Norwich Scope Association) is a local independent charity (established in 1954) which offers services, information and support for Norfolk children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

Family Centre
At our Family Centre pre-school children attend skills development sessions with their parents/carers in order to develop and enhance their physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills, within small groups of children/parents. The centre has a specialised play area and sensory garden available to our families and other voluntary organisations. Siblings are also offered support through holiday activity sessions which can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Early Years Big Ideas:
Themed activity sessions following the Early Years Foundation Stages curriculum, working on communication, physical emotional development and creative exploration for 2-5 years. We have a dedicated team of friendly staff always on hand offering advice, support and information.
School for Parents:
Themed programme based on the principles of conductive education offered to pre-school children with disabilities aged 0-5yrs. Parents and Carers learn to help their child to develop basic physical, social and cognitive skills. Refreshments and support available after each session with other parents and staff.
Sleep Counselling:
Offers support and training for children and young people with additional needs to combat sleep problems. Right from the Start: is a national programme for health professionals. It aims to promote good practice when a parent first hears of their child’s additional needs. Training is delivered by parents and professionals working together.
Adult Centre
The Adult Centre has been upgraded and refurbished over the past two years offering our clients the best possible learning environment. NANSA is proud to present a new range of services for teenagers and adults with physical/learning disabilities or behaviour which may be challenging. Each programme/course is regularly monitored and reviewed to ensure that the individual needs of each client are being met, and a strong outreach element encourages independence, confidence-building and inclusion with the mainstream community.
NANSA Adult Centre staff are fully committed to empowering clients to achieve a smooth transition into work, voluntary placements and community life.
Life Works:
is a programme of educational, vocational and personal development offered to adults to help them achieve their full potential.
NANSA Five Star:
is a challenging, entertaining and supportive programme of activities for adults who require a high level of support in order to participate fully with inhouse and outreach programmes.
NANSA 11-14′s Club:
NANSA Teens is a lively club, held on two Saturdays of each month, for 11-14yrs. Club members make friends and enjoy a wide range of activities including computer games, cookery, and group activities – the members set the agenda! Personal care staff and facilities are available for all who require them, and experienced peer mentors and volunteers are able to offer friendly support for new members.
NANSA 15-17′s Club:
This popular transition programme for teenagers has a strong outreach element. Group members are offered separate and specific sessions which are designed to promote their independence and decision-making skills, in preparation for transition to adult life. Club members are fully involved in setting the programme and they are supported by skilled staff and volunteers.
A trading and training initiative which incorporates an art gallery & shop providing a showcase for the work of artists from NANSA, other organisations and local artists in the wider community.
The project offers training opportunities and retails skills to young adults of varying abilities to enhance their employment and career prospects. The gallery will display original paintings and drawings from various artists. The shop will offer a range of painting and drawing materials, paints, brushes, canvas, sketchbooks and other related materials. Gift and promotional items also available.
The Artshoproject opened its doors on Tuesday 13th December. An official launch of the Artshoproject will be announced in the New Year.
