Aims
To provide a showcase for the work of artists from NANSA, other organisations and local artists in the wider community
To offer training opportunities across a range of skills to young adults of varying abilities and enhance their employment & career prospects
The gallery displays and sells;
- Original paintings and drawings from various artists.
- Reproductions of some of our artists work.
- A range of painting and drawing materials, paints, brushes, canvas, sketchbooks etc.
- Second hand art and photography books, frames, brushes, stretchers and other arts themed items.
- Also gift and promotional items
Our ethos revolves around equality and opportunity. We aim to provide a local, community gallery; facilitating the growth of local artists.
The project is a trading/training initiative run by NANSA (Norfolk & Norwich Scope Association) and is based in the Earlham House Shopping Centre, Earlham Road, Norwich. It consists of a gallery and retail outlet (for art materials, 2nd hand art books and frames), a print workshop (to reproduce artwork) and website. The project aims to provide employment, work placements and work experience for young people of varying abilities.
The main emphasis of the work displayed will be of a two dimensional nature. NANSA has found painting, drawing and digital photography are the only art forms that more or less guarantee the total involvement of the artist. The more technical a process i.e. sculpture, textiles or printing the less we can guarantee total involvement and the more it can potentially exclude. We aim to develop further links with many other organisations and individuals.
