Find-a-Link is a one-to-one support service offered by trained parent volunteers for the parents/carers of newly-diagnosed and older children with disabilities.
The service operates by open referral to Joy Bishop, Children & Family Services Co-ordinator, on 01603 414109, who will put parents/carers in touch with another parent of a child with a disability. The parent volunteer will offer friendly support for as long as it is required, either by telephone or through meetings/visits.
Where appropriate, parents will be offered access to NANSA’s family service initiatives (eg FIND News, School for Parents), as well as sign-posting to other local organisations such as The Hamlet Centre.
The Find-a-Link service is completely confidential and all parent volunteers undergo extensive training in order to offer a high level of support to parents.
