NORFOLK SCHOOL FOR PARENTS

Norfolk School for Parents offers a pre-school skills development service, inspired by the work of The Peto Institute of Conductive Education in Hungary, for children with motor learning difficulties and their parents/regular carers.

Children and their parents/carers attend regular weekly sessions where they work in small groups to develop physical, social/emotional, languages, communication, thinking and creative skills through a planned programme of activities.  A theme is chosen to motivate the children and the sessions include play, song, art, craft, drama and movement.

 School for Parents

The aim of the School for Parents team is to work with parents/carers to develop their child’s potential to the full and to help them to become happy, positive and motivated children ready to start school.

Norfolk School for Parents receives funding from Norfolk Education, Social Services Dept and Norwich PCT and the service is therefore currently available free of charge to all eligible Norfolk pre-school children with long-term motor learning difficulties and their parents/carers.  However, there are a maximum of 24 places available, and there may be a waiting list at times.
