Link-Up Activities Volunteers

Link Up is Nansa’s evening and weekend leisure service for Young People and Adults with physical & learning disabilities.

Link up currently runs on Saturdays during the day, Wednesday evening and Thursday evening. We are planning to offer more evening and weekend leisure activities in the future.

In Norwich there are only a few evening activities currently available for people with physical and learning disabilities and we want to change that. The bigger the volunteer team we assemble the more evening activities we can offer and maybe even add a Sunday service in the future. Volunteers are integral to the success of this service and will really make a difference. By using a team of volunteers we can reduce costs and provide a service that is affordable for our service users. The volunteer team will always be managed and directed by a Nansa member of staff.

Link Up Activities Volunteers will help our adults & young people actively participate in the activities we run. Nansa encourages independence and inclusion for everyone and the Link Up Activities Volunteers enable us to give the very best service possible. Previous activities have included: day trips out, movie nights, going out for a meals, tubing and sports days.

How It will work: Each month Nansa will contact the Link Up volunteer team via email with upcoming dates and activities, each volunteer can then choose what evening/weekend day they can volunteer. Link Up Activities Volunteers do not need to commit to the same evenings or weekends each week/month.

Safeguarding: To help protect our service users Nansa practices safer recruitment. Nansa is committed to an inclusive working environment, promoting equal opportunities in employment/volunteering however due to the nature of the work involved applicants must be 18 or over. The Adult & Youth departments are looking for regular Volunteer Activities Assistants to assist our service users to participate in the activities we run at the Adult & Youth Centre. Volunteer Activities Assistants usually volunteer on the same day and time every week, this consistent volunteering means our staff are able to plan activities weeks/months in advance.
