Ebay organiser
The retail department are looking for a volunteer to help with ebay sales. This will include sorting the donations, researching the prices for the items, listing items on ebay, re-listing items if needed, packing and posting sold items.
We would like the volunteer to be able to use a computer independently but we till teach the volunteer how to use ebay if needed.
The role is still a customer facing even though it will be online. We expect a high level of customer service and professionalism.
The volunteer ebay organiser will be based at one of our retail branches so volunteers who volunteer Mon- Fri must be over the age of 18. If aged between 16-18 volunteers can volunteer on Saturdays only.


Reception and Administration
The Adult and Youth Services Centre is looking for a volunteer receptionist for Weekdays.
The receptionist is the first point of contact for most callers or visitors and the role requires a positive, friendly and outgoing personality. The volunteer receptionist must be capable of dealing sensitively and confidentially with service users, social workers, staff, trustees and members of the public. This can be varied, interesting and rewarding role.
The main duties are:
    Answering the phone and passing the call on to the appropriate member of staff or taking a message
      Greeting visitors and signing them in
        Distributing post
          Light administration duties from the Head of Resources and team

          Applicants must be over the age of 18 due to the regular contact with our service users and permitted to work with vulnerable adults and children. Experience not needed, training and support with be given. The centre's opening hours are 8:30am to 4pm but we can be flexible within those hours.


          Volunteer Handyperson
          NANSA is looking for a volunteer handyman or handywoman to help with the maintenance of our various properties.
          The duties are wide ranging from putting up shelves and changing light bulbs to clearing out guttering, trimming hedges and fixing leaky taps.

          NANSA is also looking for volunteers who have current professional skills i.e. Plumbers or electricians.

          We have premises on Woodcock Road, Bowthorpe Road, Thorpe Avenue, Magdalen Street, Kabin Road, Meadow way and two at Earlham House off Earlham Road. Because of the varied locations the handyperson should preferably drive and has access to their own transport. We will consider applicants who cannot drive.

          Applicants must be over the age of 18 due to the regular contact with our service users and permitted to work with vulnerable adults and children.

          Youth & Transition Services
          Our young people are aged 11 to 18 and are looking for outgoing and energetic volunteers to support them at the Adult & Youth Centre or when out in the community.
          NANSA’s young people want volunteers who will help enable them to be more independent when participating in sessions at our Adult & Youth Centre. They learn important skills like cooking, numeracy and life skills. Our young people also want to have fun! Activities include going into the city for lunch, bowling or the cinema. Being a teenager is a difficult period for any person, disabled or not, so our volunteers also have to have great listening skills and patience too.

          Youth & Transition Services run – 10am to 3pm on the first four Saturdays of each month, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays during school holiday periods.

          Springboard runs - 7pm to 9pm on the first and third Thursdays of each month.

          Applicants must be over the age of 18 due to the regular contact with our service users and permitted to work with vulnerable adults and children.

          Adult Services
          At NANSA’s Adult service we provide a comprehensive programme of educational, vocational, outreach, leisure and creative activities for adults with learning and physical disabilities. Our adults are aged from 18 years old and we have no upper age limit.

          Our adults can work towards English, maths, reception skills and many other qualifications through the Gateway Qualifications scheme. We also offer sessions on a wide variety of arts and crafts, IT, cooking and music sessions. Our adults also like to be active and they can participate in dance sessions, learn to play boccia or go swimming.
          We are looking for volunteers to add to the person centred service we provide by spending time and helping our adults to actively participate in our sessions. We encourage independence and inclusion for everyone and our volunteers enable us to give the very best service we provide. Volunteers may have a skill that they want to share, know sign language or just want to make a difference in a disabled person’s life.

          The Adult Service sessions run Monday to Friday 9am to 2:30pm

          Applicants must be over the age of 18 due to the regular contact with our service users and permitted to work with vulnerable adults and children.

          Retail Support Volunteers
          The Retail Support Volunteer is a vital role in NANSA shops, raising essential funds and increasing public awareness of the charity’s work. They uphold our principles of integrity, empowerment and inclusion. They create a welcoming and positive environment for customers. They work closely with other Retail Staff and the Retail Manager to increase income and raise the profile of people with disabilities within their local community.

          We currently have vacancies in our Earlham Road and Meadow Way branches.
          Volunteer hours:
          Morning session 9am – 12pm Afternoon session 12pm – 4pm.
