Can you volunteer on a regular basis?
The Adult & Youth departments are looking for regular Volunteer Activities Assistants to enable our service users to participate in the activities NANSA run at the Adult & Youth Centre. These volunteers come at the same day and time every week, this consistent volunteering means our staff are able to plan activities weeks/months in advance.

Want to give back to a Local Charity?
NANSA has been going since 1954 and is constantly evolving and moving with the times while still remaining independent. Our service users travel from all over Norfolk to attend NANSA.

Have you got a particular skill, hobby or interest you would like to share with our service users?
We run a wide variety of sessions and welcome volunteers who have an interest in Art, Music, Cooking, Drama, sports etc. We can try to match you with sessions currently being run or with a service user who is also enthusiastic about your interest..

Do you want to learn more about working positively with people with disabilities?
We have had many students over the years come and volunteer at NANSA to broaden their experience of people with disabilities. They have been studying subjects such as Nursing, Psychology and Occupational Therapy.

The Young people & Adults want Volunteer Activities Assistants to enable them to be more independent when participating in sessions at the Centre. The Young people also are looking for energetic volunteers to help when out in the community. They have been rock climbing, skiing, had a day at the beach and have even volunteered at a food bank.

The Adults also enjoy being out in the community and regularly go to the UEA Sportspark for swimming and boccia. They have three sessions each day and they choose the sessions they want to participate in. We currently offer sessions on: Norfolk then & now, cooking, in the garden, weaving, health & wellbeing, stop motion animation and many more.

NANSA has been nominated for our person centered care and the Volunteer Activities Assistants are the cherry on the NANSA cake. Session Co-ordinators can identify any service user not engaging or who requires more help and direct the Volunteer Activities Assistant to assist.

Volunteers must be over the age of 18, complete an application form, meet with us for an informal interview and complete a DBS check. Nansa is a mindful and disability confident employer.
