Gardener & Handy Person

Hours: 5 per week to be arranged at interview

Rate of pay: £8.91 per hour

Closing date: 30th September 2021


The Gardener/Handy person will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the garden and grounds of the Family Centre. Plus, small basic building maintenance tasks.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Care of grass areas and Hedge maintenance
  • Maintaining AstroTurf
  • General care of flower beds, including planting and weeding
  • Clearance of pathways
  • Any other such duties which will enhance the grounds of the Centre
  • Minor repairs inside Family Centre
  • Minor internal painting
  • Replacing batteries in smoke alarms, changing lightbulbs
  • Other minor DIY tasks
  • Carrying out similar duties at other sites if required

  • Carrying out tasks as required by the Head of Department
  • Ensuring all work is done according to health and safety rules
