Hours: 35hrs per week (usually Monday to Friday)
Ability to work occasional weekends when covering staff holiday/sickness (Essential)
Wage: £9.11 per hour (Level 9)

Overview of Role:
The Relief worker plays a pivotal role in supporting adults with disabilities along their journey to increased independence and potential employment. The Relief Worker will support individual service users: at the Adults’ Centre (members) and across Nansa’s retail outlets (trainees).
When working at Nansa’s retail outlets, the Relief Worker will assist Trainees to achieve increased levels of work-readiness through coaching and guiding them to improve their work-related skills, confidence, and understanding of customer service.
When working at the Adults’ Centre, the Relief Worker enables service users to participate in a comprehensive programme of educational, vocational, outreach, leisure and creative activities, and encourages and promotes independence. The nature of the work is very varied, and includes assisting with personal and dietary care, dealing with challenging behaviour, and offering 1:1 support as appropriate.
The role is a multi-site opportunity; working across Nansa’s retail premises and enterprises in Norwich and potentially Wroxham (and therefore, the ability to drive and access to a vehicle for business use will be essential).
Specific Issues Relating to This Job:
The nature of this role requires a high level of flexibility to provide appropriate support as required for a range of clients with varying levels and types of physical and learning disability. Attention to detail, an ability to work well as part of a team, and a positive approach are all key to this role.
This role is initially a 6 month contract; at the end of the probationary term a decision will be made as to whether the needs of the charity require the role to be made permanent.
