Strumpshaw played host to a wonderful evening of community spirit as the latest charity quiz night at The Shoulder of Mutton raised more than £500 for Nansa through raffle ticket sales and admissions.

The event drew an enthusiastic crowd, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, purchased tickets, took part in the quiz, and helped create such a warm and lively atmosphere.

We would also like to extend our thanks to the fantastic team at The Shoulder of Mutton, whose commitment to hosting monthly charity quizzes continues to support a wide range of local causes. Their ongoing dedication makes events like this possible.

A special thank you goes to all those who generously donated prizes, including Morrisons at Riverside Norwich for contributing a wonderful hamper to the raffle.

It was an evening filled with fun and friendly competition, even though the Nansa team didn’t quite top the leaderboard!

October 2025

In October, Cooks Blinds marked an incredible milestone, 60 years of business, with a spectacular ball held at Sprowston Manor. The evening was not only a celebration of their legacy but also a heartfelt fundraiser in support of Nansa.

Guests were treated to an unforgettable night hosted by a magician who wowed the crowd with dazzling tricks and kept the energy high throughout the evening. Nansa’s CEO, Leon, took to the stage to thank everyone for their generous support, while Martin Cook shared the inspiring history of the company and its journey over six decades.

The night featured a lively auction and raffle, with incredibly generous attendees helping raise over £2,400 for Nansa, a phenomenal contribution that will make a real difference to the lives of those we support.

With live music, a photo booth, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the event was a true celebration of community, generosity, and shared purpose. We’re so grateful to everyone at Cooks Blinds and all who attended for making it such a memorable and meaningful evening

We’re thrilled to share that the East Anglian Cruising Club (EACC) selected Nansa as their Charity of the Year, and thanks to their incredible efforts, they’ve raised over £200 through a variety of fundraising activities!

EACC members came together to support our mission of empowering people with disabilities and their families. It was a pleasure to meet Jamie from EACC and personally thank him for the club’s dedication and generosity.

We’re so grateful for their support, every pound raised helps us continue providing vital services and opportunities to those who need them most.

We are absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news: Norwich Consolidated Charities has generously donated £10,000 to support Nansa’s SENsational Families Service. This incredible contribution will make a real and lasting difference to families across Norwich who are raising children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Nansa’s SENsational Families Service is a lifeline for many. It offers support, guidance, and advocacy for parents and carers navigating the often complex world of SEND. Whether it’s helping families understand their rights, access the right services, or simply providing a listening ear during challenging times, SENsational Families is there to empower and uplift.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Norwich Consolidated Charities for their belief in our mission and their commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.

We are pleased to report that this year’s Bishop’s Gardens Open Day was a resounding success, warmly attended by over 400 guests. Through the generosity and support of all who participated, an impressive total of £2,800 was raised in aid of Nansa, contributing significantly to our mission of supporting individuals with additional needs and their families.

We extend our deepest appreciation to every member of the community who joined us, offered support, and helped create an atmosphere of connection and goodwill. To our volunteers, whose dedication ensured the smooth running of stalls and refreshments throughout the day, your contributions were invaluable

We extend our sincere thanks to the gifted musicians: @emmasimsmusic, @ewanmartinmusic, @beckypinkhair_music, and Flute Fiddle and Box, whose outstanding performances enriched the day. Their talent brought a vibrant energy to Bishop’s Gardens, creating a truly memorable and uplifting atmosphere for all in attendance.

On 18 March 2025, Anna, Chelsea and the Steps & Stages team were delighted to welcome Louise Scrimshaw from the Barber Holt Charity.

The Barber Holt Charity was set up in 2023, to help autistic individuals and their families gain appropriate guidance and support to meet their needs.

It aims, by working with other charities in the autism sector, to support excellence, encourage innovation and promote best practice in all areas of provision for autistic individuals and their families throughout Norfolk and the surrounding areas.

During her visit Louise was able to sit in on one of our Attention Autism sessions – Attention Autism is an early intervention model designed by Gina Davies, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. It aims to develop natural and spontaneous communication through the use of visually based and highly motivating activities. This model helps to build the foundations of communication through, teaching turn-taking, capturing attention, sustaining engagement, and developing interactions.

We were so grateful to receive a cheque for £3,000 from the Barber Holt Charity – in support of our Attention Autism delivery in 2024/25.
